* The National Institutes of Health recently ranked the College of Nursing 11th among the country's top 100 nursing programs in terms of research funding.

* 62% of nursing alumni reside in either North Dakota or Minnesota

* 20% of American Indian BSN graduates at UND have gone on to receive a Master's degree in nursing.
* 95% of American Indian BSN graduates work with Indian people.


News & Notes:

* Rhianna Ghents, a senior nursing student, was named the 2008 Student Nurse of the Year for the state of North Dakota! One faculty member's thoughts of Rhianna: "I have no doubt she will make an outstanding nurse and am confident she will be a great asset to the profession
of nursing."

* Dr. Cindy Anderson was recently awarded the coveted 2008 Harriet H. Werley New Investigator Award from the
Midwest Nursing Research Society, awarded to only one nurse researcher in the nation annually.


* 100% of the Family Nurse Practitioner graduates passed their licensing exams on the first attempt in 2006. This is the 7th consecutive year of 100% pass rates.

* Senior nursing student Amy Retterath was awarded the Bronze Star for her National Guard service in Iraq.

* Seven College of Nursing student athletes were honored at the 2007 Scholar Athlete Recognition Program at UND. Students were honored for their academic prowess.
